OPAM/1 Xmas Item a Month finish, 12"Mini Swap.

The past week has been a bit of a blur with Jake (my GS) home from school with an infected knee due to falling off a friends bike. With visits to the doctor's surgery each day for dressing changes, entertaining one bored 10 year old with lots of word search games, the days just flew by. He is on school holidays now so his Mum is looking after him for a few days.
On Sunday I finally got into the sewing room to put the last stitches into my 12"mini which is now finding its way down south to a new owner.
This is all I can show at present until I hear it has arrived.
I received my mini from Kim today and I must say I love, love, love it so a big Thank You  Kim. I haven't got around to taking a photo as yet but will do so tomorrow and post it very soon.

My one finish for OPAM and 1 Xmas Item a Month is a Angel Xmas ornament. I love this pattern and have made quite a few already with still more prepared ready to stitch.
This one I decided to put some little rusty bells around the outside and am really pleased with how it looks. What do you think?
Well it is late and I am going to help my son clean out his garage tomorrow so an early start is on the cards.
Till next time........ Happy Stitching.........

Friday Night results...

No finishes on Friday night but lots of prep work for the Xmas swaps I am in and for other projects I am working on. I managed to get the tracing done on these 9 stitcheries of a new pattern by Michelle Ridgway of Rag Tag Stitchin.

I prepared two of my three Xmas ornaments ready to stitch onto there felt backgrounds.

Then a bit of work on some of my Gossip in the Garden stitcheries and blocks.
In all not a bad night's work. Thank you Wendy for again hosting this month. Will be over to Wendy's blog later to check out what everyone else got up to but for now it's time to get ready and head off to my quilt group.
Be back soon..... Till then.......Happy Stitching......

Sunday Stitchers, Friday Night Sew In.........

Last weekend, our Sunday Stitchers group met for June. We celebrated by holding our version of The Biggest Morning Tea'.  We also managed to raise some money for the Cancer Council through a couple of raffles and other purchases which was great. Everyone brought along something pink to eat. Below is the food table.

Lots of pink cakes, muffins, beetroot dip and a special cake made by Maree. I got to take some of that cake home, my hubby really enjoyed his piece.

This is the sign that greeted us on arrival. With our sugar overload, we probably did sound like a group of pre-schoolers by the end of the day...

Above is our birthday girl for June......Cheryl opening her fat quarters.
Below is some show and tell. Sorry the next three photos are a little fuzzy.
Gossip Girls with their blocks for June.

Helen with her Twilight Quilt. Maureen who has only joined our group recently, designed this one. Couldn't get a good photo of it, it is just gorgeous. Lots of beautiful stitching on it.

Inca with her quilt. Beautiful work in this also.
We had a wonderful day which ended all too soon. Thanks to all in our group for your company. Look forward to seeing you in July. Thanks Maree for all your work in organising it.

It is again time for Friday Night Sew In and you can go over to Wendy's to sign up.
Set aside a few hours to stitch along with other like minded ladies and work on some of your UFO's as I will be doing or start a new project. Hope to see you there. Will have the kettle on and maybe even have a muffin or two to share.

Well must go as it is getting late. I have a few things to blog about so will be back soon to do that.
Till then Happy Stitching..................

FNWF results

Last night I joined in with many other ladies for Friday Night With Friends hosted by Cheryll.    Thank you for another wonderful night of sewing Cheryll. You can check out what everyone got up to by clicking on the link above.
Below is what I worked on. These are some Gossip in the Garden blocks which go below the teacup cup block that I am still blanket stitching.
I made these blocks and added them to the two I had already put together.

My next row in the Row A-long quilt with Sunday Stitcher's is hearts so I did a trial one for my row using some scrap pieces.
I think this will fit the bill. I have started to cut out the pieces for the 8 blocks and will make up the row on Monday. Can't show any photos of that as it will spoil the surprise when the quilts are handed back to their owners later in the year.
Well must go, tomorrow we are off to the coast for a hot rod event. We were to go today but I woke up at 3.00am this morning with a migraine and ended up in bed for most of the day. Thanks to lots of TLC from hubby, I am feeling much better tonight.
Am looking forward to seeing what everyone else worked on when I get a chance.
Till next time.......... Happy Stitching.........

Week-end Sewing.

Sorry I am late in showing what I got up to on the week-end. The time went very quickly and I didn't get as much done as I had hoped.
Below are some of the things I worked on.

I managed to prepare the above blocks for my Gossip in the Garden quilt. The first block only needed a few more pieces added but the other two were from scratch. Amazing how long it takes to trace, choose the fabrics and cut out all those little pieces. All ready for blanket stitching now.
I spent some time planning and cutting out the blocks for my GS's Ninja quilt.

Still in the planning stage but a lot of the cutting done, it will come together nicely now I think.

On Sunday afternoon I decided to have a break from the cutting and planning in my sewing room and work on some stitchery. The angel in Cosmo red and the gifts in a Cottage Garden thread called Mistletoe in red/green. They will become tree ornaments.
Thank you Chooky for having me at the Chookshed's 2nd birthday I really enjoyed sewing along with everyone.
I did have a few hours break on Saturday afternoon as Chris and I went over to help celebrate my great nephew's 1st birthday. He is walking now and looked  so cute in his little outfit.

Poppy are you sure this is my Birthday Cake?
Well that's it for me tonight. Till next time...........Happy Stitching.
